Will homeowners insurance cover a river dribble cause by an rime designer?
The hose on our ice architect busted and caused river to leak adjectives over our floor. It ended up ruining around 400 square feet of hardwood flooring and even more mat. The total claim will be just over $3000.
I enjoy Mercury home insurance, and I can't find in my policy what it say about this. It merely says they do not cover "slow seepage of water", but I don't have a sneaking suspicion that this would be considered a "slow seepage".
Do you think this claim will be covered or hold you ever filed a claim beside Mercury?
Answers: This will be covered under your policy. This is a enormously common claim and I hold handled dozens of them over the years.
If you haven't already done so report it to Mercury, photograph the damages and find a professional to replace the hose or valve that cause the damage. DO NOT throw the hose or spigot away or let the repair party take it away. Mercury will want to hold the hose/valve so they can make a claim for reimbursement (including your deductible) to the businesswoman.
Good Luck
It probably will, but first consider what your deductible is and the likelihood that your premium may be jacked up afterward. Not worth it.
