I had some recent storm mess up to my home and want to do the repairs myself. The insurance company asked for a detailed estimate of the cost of repairs. If I get a contractor to prepare the estimate, can I turn surrounded by the claim, but then do the repairs myself (to amass a little money.) I am honestly handy, used to be in the home construction industry.
