how does a workers compensation lien works from the medical provider point of prospect...?

Hi what needs to be done when a merciful says that the clm is underneath litigation... Why the provider need to folder a lien, and where doe he entail to file it... What factor he plays in that satchel... is there some usefull resource you can provide me...
