How can I find about a old insurance policy that I have that is paid in full but bought by another company??

I have several old policies that have been paid in full but the company was bought out. I need to find the new company but dont know how!
You could either call your states Insurance Commissioner--they should be able to help. Or another option is to try searching the web. Yahoo, google, wikipedia would all be good soruces. Just search for the name of the insurance company and you will likely find a link.
Your best bet is to call your State's insurance commissioner. Ask to speak with the Company Licensing Unit / Department. Each insurance commissioner is responsible for keeping this information on file.

Here's a link to all insurance commissioner's web sites so you can figure out how to contact the appropriate place:

I hope this helps.
