My laptop was stolen. I am a full time student...?
I know if I lived in a dorm, it would be covered by my parents' homeowner's insurance. I live off-campus in an apartment. Will the homeonwers still cover my laptop?
If this is temporary housing and your home address is still your voting address, It may well be covered.
If your parents own the laptop and are letting you use it away from home while at school and your permanent address is your parents, then it WOULD be covered in that situation.
If you own the laptop and have an apartment with your name on the lease then it would NOT be covered. You would need renters insurance to cover your belongings.
Answers:
its possible, maybe even probable.
Most lap tops are stolen by other students, often doing the same subject, and they steal the computer for the work thats on it and not the computer itself.
If you know who has not been working this year, maybe you should pay a home visit by surprise
Contact the insurance carrier and proceed from there.
contact the insurance agent. Bet you are covered.
Nope
Yes, but probably only up to $1,000, and subject to their deductible. This is assuming you are a legal resident of their household. Keep in mind, the check will be made payable to THEM, and will be mailed to THEIR address.
Depends under which secton the laptop is covered. Normally such equipments are covered on roaming basis. You need to check the policy in detail and get talking to the agent who covered u.
probably,
but think about the deductable, and the loss of a claims free discount (possibly that they may lose) and that might be more than the price of a new comp!
