Can anyone recommend a good life insurance company?

I know all circumstances are different but I would like some recommendations as there are so many to chose from and I am sick of repeating my details, so if I could whittle it down a bit it may help!

Prudential. Its a slightly expensive from the rest but you get pretty good service and no-fuss claim.
Try a broker. I gave my details once, they emailed me a quote then rang me to go throught everything. I have had trouble in the past and i explained this to them and they went through all of them on their computers to find the best for me.
Scottish Provident

please do not take this as financial advice - more as a useful pointer - the main thing you want to look out for is whether the premium you pay is reviewable ie will they reassess what you pay as you get older. if it is stay away. few organisations do fixed premiums but one i am aware of is Abbey National or abbey plc. bear in mind what level of cover you want. do you need just life cover and how much or do you require life and critical illness (will pay out if you have a massive heart attack etc but don't die). Life insurance gets more expensive as you get older but a reasonably healthy 20 - 30 year old should get about £100,000 cover for 25 years for between £25-£35 quid per month Life and Critical Illness. Hope this helps. Try looking on motleyfool.com ---- hope this helps
mine is liverpool victoria but i think i got a rubbish deal on it so im not covered for much! hopefully i'll live long enough to change it
Primerica Life, which is owned by Primerica Financial Services, which is a member of Citigroup.

How would you feel about paying less than $100/month for $500,000 worth of coverage for just 30 years? As you get older and have less financial obligations to pay, you can reduce your coverage so that you can have more money to save for retirement.
Spend 15mins looking at www.which.co.uk
Type in 'life insurance' in the search bar
Find the best one in google.com
Halifax or Esure (whatever you do avoid CIS - Co-op Insurance though cos they are v bad!!)
Old Mutual Financial, a London based company. Very competitive here in the states so I will assume it is the same in the UK.
John Hancock
They are the best, I always take their plans for life, auto etc
