India is developed or not?
Since I am not Indian, my answer is not valid.
However, I wouldn't say it's a developed country. India's GDP is $3,344, with position 122nd in the world rank.
So there are 121 countries which are, economically, better than India. Of course this doesn't measure the "fairness" in the distribution of money.
India is developing.
in the process,in hot pursuit.
We cant say that India is developed but India is developing very fast. And we hope in next some year it will be developed.
Answers:

I would say we are in a developing stage.Unless our farmers get a decent price for their products without middlemen generating rural employment, raising the standard of living of poor, unless we create a proper infrastructure,There is no Urban-Rural divide in standard of living.Unless we generate emplyment to feed those below the poverty line we would not be recognised as a dEveloped World. A lOt has been done and still a lot more to achieve
Like the answers already given, development is measured in a few parameters, so India has shown great progress in GDP growth and economic development.
We still have a long way to go as far as improvement in human development index is concerned as well as produce more educated youth not just literate
abdul kalam has said that we must consider ou india as a developed nation. so yes india is developed
I do feel India is a devlpoing nation and rapidly moving towards devloped nations category.
the figures produced by UNICEF and othe international organizations is on sample survey basis and does not reflect a truely correct picture. The diversity itself in our country changes from place to place and there is no measure for that. there is no correct account of its diversity. Sampling method of statistics applied for such data generation i feel doesnot consider the huge variation observed in India. Lets not get misguided by these. These are only indicative figures, I do not accept it entirely or reject it, yes it does raise concern in me.
Lets Hope best for our Nation and lets do our little bits towards its progress...

India is 60 years down the road from its independence. Compare its state with USA in 1836, or any other developed country on a similar timeline. Considering that, we are well on our way to development.
On a different level, we may not be "Developed" in the conventional meaning of the term, but we are far more developed in other ways. We have a recorded history and civilization that goes back 2,000 years, strong social and cultural values, a family system that is the true antidote to the stress of modern day life. So, maybe in some aspects we are more developed than a lot of countries.
Infact, a large number of foreigners from all over the world flock to India for spiritual satisfaction.
Not Developed and will never develop.
India spends less on productive expenditure and more to compensate the expenditure incurred by the elected on elections In some disguise.
India is developing.
not yet in some fields. In some it developed exceedingly , even about 5000 years back. That is why England, Mugals,Taimur, changej khan, Gajnavi, Gauri, .were attracted2 India & took away billions of $$ Gold. When in USA , UK people were living in jungle raj , trading humans & ladies as slaves,India had highly systematic govt.India was knowing "zero" & "infinity" . India still is highly developed in Democratic system of govt, where 600 millions people cast their votes.India is highly developed in sprituality, yoga & astrology. However till a single citizen remains hungery or a single polititians takes bribe, it will not b called developed.
