I am a retired agent, and when I had my business, I other advertised surrounded by the newspaper. It get me a lot of business. I wrote profusely of non-standard, but the advertising also brought contained by standard and preferred business as well.
I hope this help you. Let me know if it does. I made up the ad, next a lot of other agents contained by my area started using version of it. The ad is inexpensive, and it will reward for itself over and over.

When you write the business, ask for referrals. Also, ask them going on for their homeowners or renters, life or strength insurance, if you write it.
Let me know if this works for you.
Best wishes, God bless.
Answers: I recommend buying Internet-generated insurance lead from a reputable provider. An Internet lead is pre-qualified surrounded by the sense that the consumer has proactively perform a search next to a search engine, looking for a solution to an insurance inevitability. The consumer has consequently taken the time to fill out an online form, requesting a quote. The consumer know he or she will be called, and if truth be told wants to be call! A good organize provider “scrubs” the lead to net sure the data is valid previously sending it to you. All of this is done in second after the consumer fills out the form, so the front can delivered to you surrounded by “real time.” Real-time leads are more expensive than elder leads, sometimes set as “vintage” lead or “aged” lead. These leads can still be viable because they may be singular a couple days old. I suggest contacting iLeads.com. You can check them out at http://www.ileads.com/ The nice piece about iLeads.com is that they enhance their homeowners insurance lead with tangible estate data from First American Financial, so you enjoy a better handle on how serious and qualified the organize is. Good luck!

The best advertising is word of mouth. Go to local saloon dealers, trade name friends, go to local realtors & bank & mortgage brokers, do the same. Leave your business cards. Also, see if you can attain together with a local mortgage company to bestow a homebuying seminar for first time home buyers. That is a great way to find lead. Join your local golf club & network near the local business owners.
To me, fancy advertising is a gamble away of money (but see if one of your comopanies will sponser some ads, Progressive usually does).
Also, when you bring clients, give the BEST customer service you can, know your forms and coverages & support honestly. Help them through the claims process as much as possible, step in next to the company when needed. Happy customers will refer you to their friends. Don't sell on price, because your customer will sign out just as prompt for price. Sell on service & keep your promise.
What apposite are new customers when current ones jump out the back door? If so, you are only just spinning your wheels, working rock-hard for nothing. Remember it take at least 3 yrs for a piece of P&C business to become profitable to the agent due to adjectives of the up front work. If they leave until that time then, you are losing money on them.
MOST of our latest business comes from referrals, not from rag or yellow page ad.
Good luck to you.
Don't forget not to grow too fast unless you hold the support staff to service the accounts. The most personal accounts any one of our account manager handle is 1000. Since within is so much work involved, I would say 800 accounts is a apposite average for each full time soul, less if they fiddle with new business and claims.
