If you have a felony forgery charge can you get your insurance license?

If it was more than ten years ago and you've been absolutely clean since and you tell them about it up front, maybe the Insurance Commissioner will sign off on it, but felony forgery is one of those things that is dead center in the character requirements. The only thing in the same league is fraud.
Sorry, not in the state of California. You can't get a license for ANYTHING in California if you have a felony on your record.
hell no! Who would buy from you?
I seriously doubt it. I wouldn't want you being my insurance agent. You might move to Venezuela. Hugo Chavez and his boys will give you a license.
Absolutlely not.
Only if you have written permission to work in the insurance business, from the state regulating agent - usually the Insurance Commissioner.
Those licenses are issued by the state and each state has different rules but I am aware of none that will license you if you have a felony conviction.
It seems not

Answers:

depends on the state and the felony, I have worked with agents with felonies, but not financial relates crimes..dui and the like, for non financial crimes, they had to get the judge who handled the case to send a letter stating they are no longer under probation, and that they felt the incident would not effect the person..basically a letter of reference from the judge..

Financial crimes will blacklist you from almost any insurance company or licensing. If you were forging checks, forget it..if you were forging fake id's in high school and have been clean for 10 years, mabeye
Even if you find a state to give you a license, it will be hard to get the company to appoint you. One of the questions on all the applications is "Have you ever been convicted of a felony". In my state there is no time limit. Even a DUI would affect your ability to get a license since a DUI is a felony in most state.
Very simple your answer is NO. They run a finger print and it will show on your record. This is due to the fact that you deal with peoples financial in a trust account as an agent or broker.
You cant even have bankruptcy on your record and if you do then you need to provide the documentations as to how and why.
Was it dismissed or discharged and the reason for applying BK.
I am an agent in the state of CA.
