Is Medicare Humana any well-mannered for prescription coverage?

Is Medicare Humana a good type of insurance to buy for medication coverage? My husband in general gets more or less $200 a month worth of medications. What is a right type of insurance that will pay for his medication?
Answers:
Humana does have exceptionally good prescription coverage. You want to check the formulary to make sure his meds are covered. At $200 per month he is markedly close to going into the donut hole, so you need to be aware of that. They hold 3 stand-alone Part D prescription plans. The Standard plan has a $265 deductible and no coverage within the donut hole, the Enhanced plan does not have the deductible but still have no coverage in the donut hole, and the Complete doesn't hold the deductible and it covers generics in the donut hole. They also own several Medicare Advantage plans which include Part D.

You should contact a local independent agent that deals next to Humana and also most other plans. They will help you find the best plan and they don't charge anything for the service. You will want someone who can do a prescription analysis of his meds to find the plan that covers best and can hold on to him out of the donut hole if possible.
Check with your state's Depart of Insurance, especially if they own a SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Info Program). Some of us former Humana agents have dropped them because of their unusual practices. What we be trained to say didn't turn out to be what they in actual fact provide.

But if you insist on Humana, make sure that your local doctor accept them first. If not, then you'll own a problem.
