Does a soul own to buy homeowners insurance?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am not planning to buy a house for a few years as I am still within school. The entity is I have a pet chow chow and I comprehend that chows are on the "black list" and many homeowners insurance companies will not insure relatives who own these dogs. I am trying to find a company that will though so if you know of any could you please tell me? Thanks for the help out.

Never heard of a home insurance company asking if you even enjoy a dog, so I am sure it would be no problem. However, if you have a mortgage the Bank usually insists that you own insurance.
If you borrow to buy the house, you will be required to get homeowner's insurance. There are companies that will write you to cover the dog, but you will wages out the nose. Most carrier will exclude the dog, meaning you will owe any claims as a result of the dog. And when it bites someone, it will cost you a bunch of money, for the injury and the permitted defense.
Get rid of the dog. Save yourself the headache.
There aren't any. A company like Foremost will insure a home, beside a dog EXCLUSION on it - in other words, they won't cover the chow. Or ANY dog, if it bites. But they charge greatly more for their policies.
Chows are prohibited breeds with every company I've ever worked beside. They are extremely territorial.
Homeowners insurance is only required by contract - if you income cash for a house, you don't hold to buy it. Most landlord rental contracts ALSO require you to hold it (tenant homeowners insurance).
I know some place in Indiana be talking nearly making "certain breed" dog owners pass mandatory liabiltiy insurance, but I have NO conception how they would enforce it, as no insurance company wants to insure "consistent breed" dogs.
I believe allstate was the company my mom used... We own a pit bull and german shepard (both black listed) find another breed that looks like yours and use that pet name. I used Malinois and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. You could use Keeshond or Schipperke. The first looks alot like it and the second have a longer face and pointy ears. Good Luck!
No it's not required to buy insurance but it is better to bring it . If someone hurts themself at your house because say your porch is skew-whiff, they can sue. Something to think just about.
No one requirements to insure someone who has a dog that is to say on a prohibited list. It doesn't create any difference if your agent meets the dog or not. And DO NOT lounge on the application and tell them you hold a different type of dog. If you do this you are materially misrepresenting yourself at the time of application. If you have a claim, the company can voice that since you lied they can void your policy. Don't nick the chance. Call around and see if you can find a company that will insure that type of dog. You are going to enjoy to make abundantly of calls or phone Foremost. They will do a dog exclusion and insure the house.
as long as you are responsible pet owner and insurance agent knows you and dog you should not enjoy problem. my husband i absolutly adore rottweilers which in lots places are breed banned. my rottweiler is couch potato, and loves everything surrounded by her yard near exception of birds. my insurance agent's wife worked in same building as i, and have actually met her (dog). our first insurance company (state farm) did not want to insure us because of dog. we lied. afterwards we changed after small earthquake (we lived 3 miles from epicenter in alabama) they jump rate on us. we jumped ship to alfa. introduce your dog to agent, you shouldn't own such problem after that. it is owner that makes dog bleak not dog's fault.
