Are there Insurance Company Quality Ratings for service to their customers?

Try the JD Powers website. They now rate insurance companies for customer service etc.

There is nothing "standard" in terms of ratings of insurers, except for the financial stability of the insurance company. You can go to your state's Department of Insurance and find out if there are complaints against an insurer, but each state may have their own way of keeping track of such complaints. You can find your state Department of Insurance through http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm.

The NCQA develops reliable measures of health care quality that help consumers make better choices. Not only do they rate carriers, they also rate providers.
