Do commissions follow you?
i did some lead generating for a brokerage for 3 months and left the company for awhile before all the leads came back. I have since reutrned to this same brokerage and now see they did NOT pay me for some leads generated by me while I was before but came back after i left, they are up ON the tally board as MY leads... am I entitled to these commissions. My Mom worked for and cut the checks for an insurance co and even after the agents had left the company they still got THEIR commissions
It depends on the contract that you signed. Go back and read it. You were probably a solicitor under their business or you assigned your commissions to their company.
Even if that's the case, now that you have gone back, you might want to talk with your manager about it. You might not be entitled to them, but it would be a move of good faith on their part.
It depends on the company and how it was structured in you employment agreement. Some companies require you to be there at least 6 months or 1 year before you will get renewals and some offer immediate vesting. I don't know about securing leads, but would think that since you left after 3 months, you were not entitled to anything that came in while you were gone.
Answers:
Nope, you're not. When you leave, the commissions are assigned to someone else. I've NEVER had commissions follow me.
But you can check your contract to be sure.
