Sopposed to tender your Social Insurance card beforehand or after?

if u apply for a job are they supposed to ask for your social Insurance card until that time or after u get hired?..because i give it to them and forgot to get it back(i wasn't thinking),i am picking it up tomorrow .. i be talking to sum one and they said nearby not supposed to ask for it until your hired..now i am getting worried because it didn't look resembling a high class place..DOES ANYONE KNOW??...THANKS A LOT

Answers:    A company would call for your SIN when you are actually hired, and may want to see the card previously hand to ensure your entitle is on it, but I can't think of a common sense why they need to hold on to the card for any length of time. In the future I would not surrender the card minus a valid reason.
