Can a non-relative be added onto ones insurance?
Example: A friend and his daughter that are living with me – He has no insurance, and won’t be getting any for at lowest possible 6 months, and I am helping to support her.
I would like to add her onto my insurance so she is at least possible covered in case of emergency.
Health insurance? No.
You can usually tag on a person to homeowner's, renters, car insurance, etc.. if you own medical insurance through your work, probably not. that's why they call it a "family plan". If you become a legalized gaurdian, then yes you could.
Answers: Car insurance? Yes. Health insurance? No.
